这几天，我作了很多奇怪的梦。梦是个很奇怪的东西，如果不写的话，它就会很容易被遗忘。有些人的梦往往都会实现，而我作的梦往往都不会实现。我的梦通常是因为最近或当天的事情而产生的。有时是因为太想念一个人或事而产生的。第一个梦是梦见我的中学朋友。可能是因为前天又一个朋友在MSN说她遇见了他，所以还会梦见他。在梦里，我突然发现他残废了，下了我一跳。我便连忙问他周围的好朋友究竟发生什么事。我们一群中学朋友在梦里回味中学的时光，到了中学去。我们也在一个组屋一起吃饭。另一个梦是梦见我去看梁静茹的演唱会。我会做这个梦也许是因为前天锦瑜SMS我会不会去看梁静茹的演唱会。我梦见梁静茹提早开始她的演唱会，她还跟观众聊了一会儿。在演唱会里，梁静茹的造型很像朱哲琴，让我十分惊讶。最后一个梦是在巴士里面。我梦见一个人竟然向我道歉。

"Stefanie" Album Review

前几天，跟朋友借了这张专辑来听，就写一些听后感吧。等了一年，孙燕姿终于出个人专辑。不过我最喜欢的燕姿的专辑还是“我要的幸福”。我总觉得燕姿的歌不能听太多次，会很容易腻的。她虽然有自己唱歌的方式，可是当她随性演唱，我总觉得她少了一些东西，可是又说不出来是什么。可是如果王菲随性演唱，就不会觉得少了什么，而感觉到她完美的个性。
这张专辑我最喜欢的词是“我的爱”和“同类”。我觉得“我的爱”很适合在你很累的时候聆听。声量调刚刚好，你会很舒服，慢慢享受这首歌曲。如果你是听“奔”的话，就把声量调大声一点吧。 我觉得“奔”少了新鲜感。可能是张惠妹唱过“奔跑”，陈晓东唱过“跑”的因素吧。要不然我会觉得“奔”是一首蛮好听的歌。

Star Awards 2004 (12/12/04)

I just watched the star awards today. In the beginning of the star awards, Jacelyn Tay tripped and fell down but luckily Tay Ping Hui quickly held her up gently. It really surprised the viewers with such a beginning. But Jacelyn had made a wonderful twist in her speech about the fall. She said when you fall down; you need to learn how to get up. The funniest speech should goes to Terrance Cao, Jacelyn ex-boyfriend, who said thanked Beijing 101 for giving him a lot of exposure to the public through the media. The most surprise speech goes to Li Nanxing who did not thank his wife, but thank Jesus Christ. I never knew he was a Christian then. Later, my friend told me he is from city harvest. Initially I thought he is going to thank his fans with the last word but instead Jesus came out of his mouth and surprised everyone. He said something like this “All the years, what drive him to carry on so many years acting and preserve is---------Jesus Christ.” Another artiste who thanked God is Moses Lim. He was from St. Andrew Cathedral. The thanking of God reminded me of last year Singapore Hits Award 2003 whereby JJ, Sun Ho, David Tao and Fish thanked Jesus Christ when they won the award. During the recap of the super popular award, I saw Chor Chew Ming thanked his idol Ah Mei in the previous star awards ceremony. This reminded me of what he said in the recent charity show this year that he liked Ah Mei too. This shows that over the years, he still like Ah Mei songs. Haha. The star awards made people feel it is like one big family especially when the artistes keep teasing Fann and Christopher Lee, even the hosts too. Mark Lee help Christopher to send kisses from Fann, Chow Chew Ming held Fann Wong hand tightly to ask her to kiss Christopher when her name was announced in the top 10, Chen Liping ran to the mic and wanted to say something but Fann snatched the mic back etc. It was quite funny as the mic came off when Fann snatched the mic from Chen Liping. Later, Fann threw the broken mic away. It is also a rare opportunity that MCS invite a Korean artiste, Ryu to give awards. Other artistes invited are 5566, Vivian Hsu, Zhao Wei, Pan Wei Bo, Flora Chan etc. Fann also gives her new comic to Wiber Pan Wei Bo too. Everything ended well and really happy Lin Ying Zhu gets the best supporting actress as I think the rest of the nominates cannot make it. For the best supporting actor, I wish Nick Shen will get it. He had missed a chance in his excellent acting in “The Reunion” but this year failed again. Hope next year, he had the chance too. Andrew Seow won it and I think he also deserved it as he missed the chance last year. The most surprising award is the best actress which goes to Ivy Lee. I never thought she would win again. I was expecting Xiang Yun or Wang Biren to win. About the dressing, I think the best dress should goes to Jacelyn and Wang Biren. Jacelyn dress was simple and nice. Biren dress was elegant. The best hairstyle goes to Fann. She was so pretty. Jacelyn hair was natural and nice too.


Besides today is star awards, it is also my first piano lesson. The teacher taught quite well and I was having fun playing the piano. Though sometimes I played the key wrongly, but overall I think my performance today was not bad. But the funny part is the teacher open the piano and let me see the mechanisms inside, and talked a bit of physics. Saying the shortest the string, the highest the pitch due to great vibration and the longest and thicker the string, the least vibration and hence a low pitch. Each key got a hammer touching the string, no matter black or white. Only when you release the key then the hammer will untouch the string. The highest pitch is on the right of the piano. blah blah blah. The lesson ended quite early as my teacher is quite busy with a lot of lessons to teach today. She will make up the lesson on other day. Then I waited for kwansiang to end his piano lessons. I ended up chatting with the admin there. To my surprise, the admin was from SRJC (science faculty) too and now in NUS (Arts and Social Science). She was younger than us by 2 years. She also took chemistry and her teacher was Mrs Suresh. We talked about our JC life, about how frequent chemistry teachers in SRJC like to give the students make up lectures in the evening till night. Finally Kwansiang came out of the music room and we went for dinner and went home to catch the star awards.

Jovan 21st Birthday Celebrations at the airport

This year Jovan birthday celebration was held in Changi Airport. We are celebrating her birthday 2 days in advance It was a surprised birthday celebrations planned by the material science students. We did not tell Jovan that we are celebrating her birthday in Changi Airport. Instead we told her we are sending Yuzhen off to Vietnam for her YEP (Youth Expedition Project). Exactly, quite a lot of people came today. They are Serene, Shujun, Yuzhen, Papaya, Suru, Dennis, Yeow Guan, Minrui, Ryan, me and our birthday girl. The interesting part is our clothes colour. Every colour was worn by 2 people. It is really a interesting phenomenon. (See below pic). Yeow Guan and shujun worn orange, Suru and Minrui worn yellow, Jovan and me worn green, serene and suru worn pink. The only odd one out are Dennis wearing brown and yuzhen wearing black. My off day on 6/12/2004

Today was my off day. Initially kwansiang and I wanted to go for a swim in the morning. But it rained the whole day. Then in the end, we spent our whole day slacking and sleeping at my house. Haha. But we still got go and register for piano lessons and played yugioh cards. After a long time of consideration, we decided to go to Edvox Music School to learn piano. We had been talking about learning piano since JC. Now, this task finally came true after many years. Today was also the day yongliang went off to Thailand for his missionary trip from 6 dec to 16 dec. Bon voyage too.

Last week, as I was waiting for bus in the bus-stop, I saw a lady wearing a cross on her neck, a big wooden cross. Then next, I saw another lady besides her also wearing a wooden thing on her neck, but it was the letter J. I began to wonder whether the lady I saw initially was wearing a cross or a new creative letter T, or a plus sign. Haha.


这个星期，我一直在听阿哲的“下一个永远”。我就也写听音乐的一些感触吧。
每一首歌都需要不同的声量来听。有些歌需要把收音机声量开得很大声还能听到歌的内在美， 听到歌手的声音，他转音的奥妙。有些歌手你听他们的歌长大，对他们的声线了如之掌。 你可以像录音室的制作人一样，在不同的时候，调声量的大与小来听他们的歌。有些歌不是一听就好听，而是你还没找到那首歌的宝。如果有一天，你听了几篇，熟悉了那首歌，然后找到那个宝，你就会开始喜欢那首歌了。

有些歌很商业化，可是通常这些歌曲都缺乏感情。有些歌很另类，需要一段时间去聆听，就像是陪朋友一样，要陪这首歌，慢慢培养感情。当你熟悉了一首歌，你就交了一个新朋友了。它能陪你一辈子，永远那么专一。只不过如果你变心，你就会失去一份你和它的感情。虽然它不会变心，可是你的心再也找不回那种感觉了。 有多少人能不变心，一直陪一首歌过一生？是不是不能陪一首歌太久，还能思念一首歌更深呢？是不是一首歌像朋友一样，不常见面，就会思念更深呢？

Singapore Idol 1/12/2004
This week, I watched the Singapore idol. I am so glad that Taufik won, at least Singaporeans are not totally blind. Taufik winning Slyvester is like Jeff won Andy Lau in 1996 Singapore Hits Award. The talented ones will win. Haha. In fact, I wish Olinda and Taufik are the last 2 finalists. I like Taufik third song. He sings so well and delivered it so wonderfully and beautifully. Everyone was so shocked and stunned to hear such a wonderful song. The applause told us everything already. He really improved not only a lot, but too much. He is also very versatile, suitable to sing different kinds of songs. However, the dream song, I think sly sang slightly better than Taufik. Perhaps the dream song is a bit commercialized and sly can capture it quite well. The funny part is a lightstick was thrown at Ken Lim during his saying of his comments. I guess it was from sly fan haha. For sly, I could only comment his first song is shouting and not singing, the second song makes my hairs stand and the third song: ”something at least is pleasant in my ears”. For taufik, I will comment as this: the first song tells me u had not improved a lot but improve too much, the second song you had use too much force and I think sly did better than u, the third song, the most wonderful song I heard today, u are such a versatile singer and everyone seemed to agree with me by the applause u heard just now. You definitely give english songs an opportunity to be played on my hifi set in my house. Congrats Taufik, the first Singapore Idol
